T R A C E R O T A C o n t r o l
F o r adjusting the slope of the horizontal trace line. T h e slope of the line w i l l
change due to s u c h influences as the e a r t h ' s magnetic force. Use a s c r e w -
d r i v e r to keep the trace line parallel w i t h the horizontal a x i s graticule.
(8)
G N D T e r m i n a l
T h i s i s the ground t e r m i n a l to be used w h e n setting up a common ground
w i t h other equipment.
(9)
*
P O S I T I O N C o n t r o l
For adjusting the v e r t i c a l position of the C H I w a v e f o r m displayed on the
C R T screen. D u r i n g X - Y operation it is used to adjust the position of Y -
a x i s .
(10)
V O L T S / D I V C o n t r o l
F o r setting the v e r t i c a l a x i s s e n s i t i v i t y w i t h the C H I v e r t i c a l a x i s a t t e n u a -
tor. I t c a n be set i n steps of 1,2 and 5. Setting the V A R I A B L E control a l l
the w a y to the r i g h t at C A L enables calibrated v e r t i c a l s e n s i t i v i t y . D u r i n g
X - Y operation, i t becomes the attenuator control for the Y - a x i s .
(11)
V A R I A B L E C o n t r o l
F o r fine adjustment of C H I v e r t i c a l a x i s s e n s i t i v i t y . A l l o w s continuous
v a r i a b l e adjustment w i t h i n the V O L T S / D I V range. When set to the r i g h t
at C A L , the
becomes the fine adjustment control for the Y a x i s .
(12)
A C - G N D - D C S w i t c h
F o r selecting the C H I v e r t i c a l a x i s input s i g n a l coupling mode.
A C
I T h e input s i g n a l w i l l be capacitively coupled, a n d a l l D C c o m p o -
nents
point w i l l be 10 H z or less w h e n u s i n g either a 1:1 probe or a
coaxial cable, and 1Hz or less w h e n u s i n g a corrected 10:1
probe.
G N D !
V e r t i c a l amplifier input i s grounded, and the ground potential
can be checked. A t a n input resistance of 1 M O r e l a t i v e to the
ground, the input s i g n a l i s not grounded. I n t h i s mode, the
a n t i - t r a c e line jump c i r c u i t prevents the trace position from
c h a n g i n g suddenly w h e n s w i t c h i n g from G N D to A C .
D C
: Provides direct coupling of the input s i g n a l , and measurement
can be c a r r i e d out w i t h the direct current component i n t a c t .
(13)
I N P U T J a c k
T h e C H I v e r t i c a l a x i s input j a c k .
D u r i n g X - Y operation, i t becomes the Y - a x i s input j a c k .
attenuator c a n be calibrated. D u r i n g X - Y operation, i t
w i l l be eliminated. T h e low range - 3 d B attenuation
