In case of a power failure or if the mains con-
nector is removed, move the on/off switch im-
mediately to the Off position. This prevents un-
controlled restarting.

WARNING

Always pull the mains plug out of the socket be-
fore performing any type of work on the ma-
chine!
7.1
Speed control
You can regulate the speed steplessly within the
speed range using the adjusting wheel [1-3] (see
Technical data). This enables you to optimise the
speed to suit the respective material.Please also
note the specifications on the tools.
7.2
Changing tools [3]
CAUTION
Hot and sharp tools
Risk of injury
Wear protective gloves.
CAUTION
Tools that are not supplied or recommended by
Festool.
Damage to machine caused by increased vibra-
tion load
Risk of injury and harm to health
Always use original Festool tools.
Sharp edges! Carefully remove protective
resin from the cutting edge of new insertion
tools!
Push in the fastening element [3-1] firmly up to
the stop.
Close the clamping lever [3-2].
Avoid pinching hands and fingers when se-
curing the clamping lever! The spring force
causes the clamping lever to snap back into
position rapidly.
The tool can be offset in 30° increments and se-
cured in the most effective working position.

Working with the machine

Observe the following instructions:
– Only guide the machine against the workpiece
when it is switched on.
– A significant increase in the force required to ad-
vance the machine and slow working progress
are indicators that the blades are worn.
– Hold the machine by the gripping surface [1-5]
with both hands to ensure safe guidance. Do not
cover the cooling air openings [1-6] with your
hand. Otherwise there is a risk of the machine
overheating.
– Always secure the workpiece in such a manner
that it cannot move while being processed.

Accessories

fore performing work on the machine such as
changing and adjusting accessories!
Always use original Festool tools and accessories.
Using low-quality tools or accessories from other
manufacturers may increase the risk of injury and
cause serious machine imbalance that decreases
the quality of the working results and accelerates
machine wear.
The order numbers of the accessories and tools can
be found in the Festool catalogue or on the Internet
under "www.festool.com".
9.1
Mounting the adapter [4]
A depth stop and positioning aid can be mounted on
the adapter and offset in 30° increments in line with
the tool using the detent button [4-1].

Attaching the depth stop - [5A] or [5B].
Engage the adjusting lever [6-1] to set the cut-
ting depth.
Select the correct depth stop for the tool and re-
place if necessary:
