Installing Mass Storage Devices

This section describes the data connectors that you can use when you
install an extra IDE mass storage device. For detailed installation
instructions, refer to the Upgrade and Maintenance Guide, available
on HP's web site at
You can install extra IDE mass storage devices such as a supplementary
hard disk drive, a Zip drive, a CD-ROM drive, and a tape drive. Up to
two hard disk drives can be installed in your PC.
You can install a non-IDE hard disk drive or CD-ROM device, but it will
need an accessory board, cable and driver software (usually supplied
with the device). Contact the product vendor for further information.

Connecting Devices

If you add a Zip drive, hard disk drive, CD-ROM drive, or tape drive,
you need to connect it to power and data cables. The data cables
available in your PC are shown below:
