    Home Screen The Home screen is the starting point of your phone, press access or return to the Home screen. Getting to Know the Home Screen Status Bar Dock Bar Onscreen Dots Shortcut Widget ● Status Bar lets you quickly see both the notifications that you have received (on the left) and the phone’s status (on the right), along with the current time.

    Viewing the Extended Home Screen There are four additional screens in addition to the main Home screen provides more space for widgets, shortcuts, and other items.   • Page 10 Using the Notifications Panel The Notification area indicates new message events (new mes- sages, calendar events, call status, etc). You can open this panel to view a list of all your notifications. To see notifications: Touch the status bar to reveal the Notifications tab, and then drag it down to open the Notifications panel.

    Touch-screen Navigation Your phone’s touch-screen lets you control everything using your fingers. Choose one of the following touch gestures. Touch To select items such as applica- tion and settings icons, to press onscreen buttons, or to type using the onscreen keyboard, you simply touch them with your finger.

    Function Keys Your phone has four fixed-function keys that can be used on any screen. Home Key The Home key ( ) returns to the main Home screen. If you are viewing the left or right extended Home screen, opens the central Home screen (#3 of the 5 total available screens).

    Dock Bar You can easily add, change or remove applications, except four primary applications in the Dock bar. Opening the Application On the Dock bar, touch the applica- tion icon to open it. • When you have added applica- tions, slide the Dock bar up or down to bring more applications into view.
  • Page 14 Changing an Application Touch and hold the application you want to change. From the Dock Setting window touch Change Choose the application to which you wish to replace the Dock bar from the Change window. Touch OK to confirm the replace- ment.

    Customize the Home Screen You can customize your Home screen by creating Shortcuts, adding and removing Widgets, repositioning Widgets and changing the Wallpapers. For an introduction to the Home screen, see “Home screen” . Creating Shortcuts Shortcuts can access a specific contact, activate a feature or launch an applications you have.
  • Page 16 Adding and Removing Widgets Widgets are self-contained applications that can be placed on either the Home screen or an extended screen. To add a widget: Press to activate the Home screen. Touch and hold on an empty area of the screen. From the Add to Home screen window touch Widgets Touch an available widget to place it on your current screen.

From the screen where you can enter text, touch the text field to reveal the onscreen keyboard.     Using microSD Card You can use a microSD card to expand the memory of your phone. Connecting the microSD Card To connect the microSD card: Uncover the microSD slot located on the left side of the phone. Position the microSD card with the gold strips facing down and slide it into place until it is fully inserted and locked in place.

  • Page 23 Connecting the Handset and Headset To connect the headset: Connect the end of the handset cord to the handset jack marked with the symbol. To connect the headphones (Optional): Connect the headset cord to the headset jack marked with the symbol.
  • Page 24 To connect to the network: Connect one end of the supplied CAT5 Ethernet cable to the phone marked with the symbol. Connect the other end of the cable to your LAN Ethernet con- nection. (Do not extend the LAN Ethernet cable to the outside of the building.) Note: Skip instructions 5 and 6, if you are connected to a PoE.
