9. Putting-into-operation

Take note of the safety instructions in chapter 5 as well as all other instructions in these
operating instructions.
• First separate the mains plug of the clear water pump from the mains socket:
• Select the operation mode (manual or automatic) with the switch located on the side of the clear water pump. In
the manual operating mode ("Manual"), the pump runs continuously; in the automatic operating mode ("Auto"),
the float switch is active.
• Connect the pressure hose to the outlet opening of the pump and place the latter in an appropriate location in the
water. When placing the pump in a well for example, attach an appropriate rope to the retainer of the pump first.
See chapter 8.
• Make sure that all hose connections are tightened properly.
• Open an existing stop valve of the mounted hose.
• Plug the mains plug into a mains socket with earth connector.
• If the manual operating mode is selected, or if the clear water pump is in the water and the float switch has released,
the water pump starts to run right away.
It might take a moment for the water to be pumped, as air must be discharged from the pump first.
• In the automatic operating mode, the clear water pump is switched off via the integrated float switch as soon as
the water level sinks below a certain level (approx. 10cm).
• Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket in order to deactivate the clear water pump if the latter is not
needed any more.

10. Placing out of operation

If the clear water pump must be disconnected from the hose (for ex. for cleaning, maintenance or for storage in winter),
then proceed as follows:
• Disconnect the water pump from the power supply, pull the mains plug from the mains socket.
• Remove the pump from the water.
Remove the hose slowly from the pump to allow water to escape (if necessary, provide an intercepting tank).
• In winter, store the water pump in a dry space that is protected against frost.
Think of emptying the hoses installed outdoor in order to avoid frost damages; open possibly mounted water taps.
