6. Functional description

The "Clear Water Pump with Float Switch" is operated e.g. in a rainwater cistern or in a well with ground water. To
that effect, the pump can be submerged completely (submersion depth max. 7m; calculated from the lower side of
the pump/suction opening to the surface of the water).
A corresponding fastener with which the clear water pump can be fastened is located at the upper side.
The clear water pump must never be fastened by the power cord or by the hose (e.g. to lift it up from
the well).
Fastening the pump by the power cord damages the latter; danger for life through electric shock!
Fastening the pump via the hose can cause the pump to slip off, thus damaging the power cord.
The water pump must always be operated exactly upright. Otherwise, the float switch can seize inside the housing.
In case of flooding, make sure when installing the pump to suck water (e.g. in the cellar), that the height of the water
is not under 5cm. The pump does not function with a lower water height as it will suck air only.
Only clean water may be pumped; the max. grain size of impurities must not exceed 3mm. Coarser impurities (leaves,
dirt particles, stones etc.) block the suction openings; furthermore, they block the pump and the float switch.
A big sliding switch on the side of the pump is used to select the manual or the automatic mode of operation.
• Manual operation, switch position "Manual"
The water pump runs continuously as long as it is connected to the mains voltage. In this operating mode, the clear
water pump must never be put into operation without surveillance (dry run possible, damages to the water pump,
as well as risk of fire through overheating!).
• Automatic operation, switch position "Auto"
A float switch which is integrated in the clear water pump deactivates the latter when the water level drops below
a certain level. Running the pump without surveillance is possible.
However, make sure that no coarse impurities in the liquid to be pumped block the suction opening of the water
pump or the pump itself. Furthermore, these impurities can block the float switch.
For this reason, a regular control of the correct functioning of the clear water pump is necessary!
