Printing from a Computer

Follow this procedure to print a document from
your computer. Make sure that the printer driver is
installed. To check if the driver is installed, see the
MF Driver Installation Guide. For details about
printing features, see "Print, " in the e-Manual and
Online Help.
How to display the print screen or items on the screen
may vary depending on your application and/or
operating system.

Start the print command.
Open the document you want to
print from the application, click
[File] → [Print].
The procedure to display the printer driver screen may
differ depending on the applications you are using.

Select the printer.
Select your printer icon from
[Select Printer], then click
[Preferences] or [Properties] to
open the dialog box.

Adjust preferences.
After finished setting, click [OK].

Print the document.
Click [Print] or [OK].

Scanning

The following four different scanning methods are
available:
Scan to a File Server
Scan to a USB Memory
Scan to a Computer (USB Connection)
Scan to a Computer (Network Scan)
This section describes the basic procedures for
scanning documents and storing the scanned
images on a computer connected to the machine
via a USB cable (Scan to a Computer (USB
Connection)). To check if the driver is installed, see
the MF Driver Installation Guide. For details about
scanning features, see "Scan, " in the e-Manual.
Make sure that:
The scanner driver has been installed on your
computer.
Both your computer and the machine are turned on
and connected with a USB cable.

Place documents.
Place the documents on the platen glass or load them
in the ADF.
Close the ADF after placing your documents.
For documents you can scan, see "Specifications, " in the e-Manual.

Enter the scan mode.
Press
[SCAN] repeatedly to select <USB
SCANNING>.
The SCAN indicator lights up and the machine enters the scan standby mode.

Start scanning.
Press
[Start] on the machine.
If you are asked to select a program to launch, select "MF Toolbox Ver4.9. " The
scanned document will be processed according to your settings.
When scanning is complete, a folder with the scanning date will be created in
the [My Pictures] folder in the [My Documents] folder, and your document will
be saved in this folder. (In VISTA, the folder will be created in the [Pictures]
folder.)
If you want to cancel scanning:
Press
[Stop/Reset] on the operation panel, then click
[OK] on the computer screen.
