USING THE AUTO DATE/TIME
FUNCTION
Follow the procedure to superimpose the date, or
time and date, on a recording of

Make sure that a power source is connected,
turn the POWER switch to CAM ERA, and turn
the STANDBY switch t o STANDBY.

Press the DATE-TIM E DISPLAY button , if nec­
essary, until you see the date or time and date,
as you prefer, displayed in the viewfinder.

Press the REC START/STOP button . The date,
or date and time, will be recorded superim­
posed on the scene.

EDIT SEARCH

Insert Editing
To record over a previously recorded scene:

Turn the STANDBY switch to STANDBY.

Look into the viewfinder, and locate the point
where you want to begin recording by
holding down the EDIT SEARCH
•
search forward ( search at normal speed), or
holding down the EDIT SEARCH
•
search backward (search at
speed) .

When you see the desired starting point,
release the EDIT SEARCH button (the
camcorder will return to REC PAUSE mode),
and then press REC START/STOP to begin
recording the new scene.

To end the inserted recording, press R EC
START/STOP again.

• The flying erase head ensures that the inserted
recording merges into the previous record ing with
smooth transitions from one segment to another.
