Master-slave bus configuration using common keyboards

In order for KDC3905 (BM0900) keyboards to cooperate with KDC3915 satellites (including the
common ones), it is necessary to configure PBX parameters in an appropriate way. First it is
necessary to plan the installation according to chapter 6 and then to assign the satellites to
appropriate PBX (chapter 11.1).
In order for the master-slave system to operate properly, the following parameters must be set:
•
0006 – enter an individual subsystem number for each control panel 3905 (this parameter
should be entered also when PBX are connected via data bus and no common satellites
have been used)
•
x001 – enter the serial numbers of all supported satellites (successively in parameters
2001, 3001, 4001 etc.)
•
x004 – set the virtual number of audio track used to make the current connection. This
parameter can be treated as the "name" of cable to which the device is connected. For
this reason, all satellite keyboards operating on the same cable must have the same value
in parameter x004.
•
x005 – in exceptional cases, manually assign a physical audio track (0 == auto, 1 == SAT, 2
== REM)
Parameter 0006 assigns a PBX number. It should be unique in one system.
In parameter x001 (where x is a logical satellite number – slot number) enter the serial numbers
of KDC3915 keyboards (local and remote). Numbers of common satellites must be entered into
all panels that support them. Each common satellite must have the same keyboard number in all
PBXes (e.g. the serial number of the keyboard at the gate is to be entered in all PBXes in parameter
4001).
Parameter x004 (virtual audio track number) is used mainly for remote keyboards, in case of local
satellites it is usually not necessary to change this entry. Based on entered virtual audio track
number, the PBX distinguishes which keyboards can establish a connection (depending on line
occupancy). It is best to use two-digit numbers. Satellites that are connected within one bus must
have the same value entered in parameter x004.
Note!
Each common satellite must have the same set of parameters in each of PBX with which it
cooperates.
It is possible to connect the local keyboard to the bus with common satellites, but then the audio
track number (x004) for the common satellite has to be filled in. Otherwise, the system may allow
two audio connections to be made on one cable, thus both calls will interfere with each other.
An example of the installation along with parameters is shown in Figure 8.
