6. Installation planning

Usually, installation planning should start by determining how the instrument lines will be laid. In
the simplest case there will be one camera line for each staircase – at the entrance to such a
staircase there will be KC3905 cassette installed. At the other inputs (if any) the KDC3915 should
be installed as local satellites.
In case of using a modular base, the difference lies in replacing KDC3905 with a module. In this
case it is necessary to use KDC3915 connected to BMOD as local keyboards on all inputs to one
line of apparatus.
Such a fragment of the whole installation is called subsystem – a single camera line
(KDC3905/BM0900) and all inputs that only lead to this staircase (KDC3915). These devices will be
connected by a local bus (SAT) within one subsystem. Until this point, the installation and
configuration of system runs as in case of KDC1905 system (without addition of "M"). Each
subsystem has its own independent SAT bus. Each subsequent subsystem (which may also be a
single KDC3905 cassette or modular base) must be assigned a unique identifier (number 1-99 in
parameter 0006), hereinafter referred to as subsystem number.
Each entrance, from which staircases are accessible, is operated by KDC3915 keyboard. All inputs
of this type and KDC3905 control panels will be connected via common bus (REM).
The recommended installation method is shown in Figure 6.
It is possible to connect local and remote satellites on one bus, but this requires entering the audio
track number also for local keyboards.
