DRAINING THE FUEL TANK AND CARBURETOR
1. Unscrew the fuel filler cap (see page 15), remove the fuel strainer, and empty
the fuel tank into an approved gasoline container. We recommend using a
commercially available gasoline hand pump to empty the tank. Do not use an
electric pump. Reinstall the fuel strainer and the fuel filler cap.
RECOMMENDED SERVICE PROCEDURE TO
PREVENT HARD STARTING
No preparation required.
Fill with fresh gasoline and add gasoline stabilizer*.

Turn the engine switch to the OFF position and drain
the carburetor float bowl (see page 61).
Drain the fuel tank and carburetor (see page 61).
Change the engine oil and lubricate the cylinder (see
page 63).

when handling fuel.
• Stop the engine and let it cool before
handling fuel.
• Keep heat, sparks, and flame away.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
• Keep away from your vehicle.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
