Confirming the Hibernation Setting
✎
Hibernation is an energy-saving feature enabled at the factory that
can be initiated by you or by the system. This feature protects
your notebook by saving all information in RAM (random access
memory) to a hibernation file on the hard drive and shutting down
the notebook. Compaq recommends that you do not disable
hibernation. For more information about using Hibernation, refer
on this CD to the Software Guide, "Power" chapter.
To verify that Hibernation is enabled:
■
In Windows 2000 Professional, select Start > Settings >
Control Panel > Power Options icon > Hibernate tab. Make
sure that the Enable Hibernate Support check box is selected.
■
In Windows XP, select Start > Control Panel > Performance
and Maintenance icon > Power Options icon > Hibernate tab.
Make sure that the Enable Hibernation check box is selected.
