Designated use

Area of application and measured materials
The device described in these Operating Instructions is to be used only for level and interface
measurements of liquids. Depending on the ordered version the device can also measure
explosion-hazardous, flammable, poisonous or oxidizing materials.
Subject to the limit values specified in the "Technical Data" and the regulatory framework listed
in the manual as well as the associated documentation, the device may only be used for the
following measuring tasks:
Measured process variable: Level and/or interface
Calculated process variable: Volume oder mass in arbitrarily shaped vessels (calculated from
the level by the linearization functionality)
In order to ensure the proper state of the measuring device through the operating time:
Only use the measuring device for materials to which the wetted parts of the device are
sufficiently resistant.
Comply with the limits specified in the "Technical Data".
Misuse
The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from incorrect or non-designated use.
Borderline cases:
For special measuring materials and cleaning agents: Endress+Hauser will assist with
identifying the corrosion resistance of wetted parts but does not accept any warranty or
liabilty.
Residual risk
The heating up of the housing surface due to the power consumption in the electronic
components ammounts to a maximum of 20 K. If the probe is in contact with hot measuring
materials, there is an additional heating up of the housing surface. Especially the process
connection may heat up to nearly the process temperature.
Danger of burns owing to high process temperatures!
For high process temperatures: Install protection against contact in order to prevent burns.
