Exposed rope can whip violently when broken, striking nearby personnel with sufficient force to cause injury or death.
This manual serves as a guide to using the 805 cable puller. Due to the unique nature of each cable pull, no single manual can provide one set of instructions for every pulling situation.
Calibrated to 500 lbs. +2% –5% at 15 feet/minute. Accuracy at other loads and speeds will vary. The 805 Cable Puller must be calibrated once a year. The 805 Cable Puller will be calibrated once a year at no charge for five years from date of purchase. After five years, the customer pays for the calibration. The customer pays freight in both directions for every calibration.

14 15 14. Chart Recorder Force Output Receptacle: This receptacle is used to connect a strip chart recorder (Greenlee model number 33901), to monitor force. Voltage output is proportionate to the force on the pull line and is rated in pounds.
1. Vacuum or blow a fish line through the conduit. Tie the Greenlee 3/8" Multiplex rope to the fish line, and manually pull the 3/8" Multiplex rope through the conduit. For specific instructions and tools, refer to a Greenlee catalog or call Greenlee Customer Service at 1-800-735-0786.
Be sure chain is tight. Use only on round conduit (2" to 6" rigid) capable of retaining 800 lb. Greenlee / A Textron Company Mounting Puller to Bracket 1. Remove the puller mounting pin from the bracket. 2. Lift the puller and slide it into place.

Optional Pulling Boom When the chain-leaf mounting is not practical or is not possible, use the optional Pulling Boom (Greenlee part number 33656) and a Greenlee feeding sheave. The feeding sheaves are available for conduit sizes from 2" through 5".

Greenlee / A Textron Company 805 Electric Cable Puller ROPE IN GROOVES 5. Wrap the capstans with Greenlee 3/8" Multiplex rope as shown. Number of Rope Wraps on Capstan It is best to start the pull with just a few wraps of rope on the capstan and add wraps later as the tailing force requires.

Unwrap rope from capstans. 5. Disassemble chain leaf mounting bracket or mount- ing boom by reversing the assembly instructions used earlier in this manual.
Optional Pulling Boom (Part No. 50336568): This accessory provides a convenient means of mount- ing the 805 to a pull box when leaf chain mounting is not practical. The U-type end of the boom mounts directly to any Greenlee feeding sheave. The feeding sheave can then be inserted into the conduit.

Service Puller Other than what is described in this manual, the 805 puller must be returned to Greenlee Textron for service or calibration. Contact the Field Service Department at Greenlee Textron (1-800-435-0786) to make arrangements to return the unit for calibration. Greenlee Textron will pay for calibration annually for the first five years from date of purchase.
