2.4 Manage Cameras for PoE Device

This chapter is only applicable for the models with PoE interfaces.
Purpose:
Power over Ethernet provides power to a network device via the same cable as used for the
network connection. This is very useful for IP-surveillance and remote monitoring applications in
places where it may be too impractical or expensive to power the device from a power outlet.
The PoE interface supports the Plug-and-Play function. You can manually disable PoE function.
After PoE function is disabled, the PoE channel becomes a normal channel, and online network
camera can be added.

2.4.1 Add PoE Cameras

Step 1 Connect PoE cameras to device PoE interfaces with network cables.
Step 2 Go to Camera > Camera > IP Camera to view camera image and information.

2.4.2 Add Non-PoE IP Cameras

Purpose:
You can manually disable PoE function. After PoE function is disabled, the PoE channel becomes a
normal channel, and online network camera can be added.
