Troubleshooting

PROBLEM
Bender will not operate
Bender operates slowly.
Motor "hums"; shoe does
not rotate.
Batteries will not charge.
Low battery life.
Bender overbends conduit
slightly.
Bender underbends conduit
slightly.

PROBABLE CAUSE
Power switch is OFF.
Battery voltage is low.
Battery connections are loose.
Battery voltage is low.
Battery voltage is low.
Battery connections are loose.
Battery connectors are corroded or dirty.
Charger's in-line fuses are blown.
Charger is faulty.
Batteries are faulty.
Batteries are exhausted.
Too much squeeze on
1-1/2" – 2" EMT or IMC.
Conduit has unusual characteristics.
Too little squeeze on
1-1/2" – 2" EMT or IMC.
Conduit has unusual characteristics.
Turn power ON.
Charge the batteries.
Tighten the battery connections.
Charge the batteries.
Charge the batteries.
Tighten the battery connections.
Clean battery connectors.
Replace charger's fuses.
Test charger's output with voltmeter.
Replace charger if output is less
than 12 volts.
Replace batteries.
Replace batteries.
Decrease squeeze. See instructions
under Adjusting the squeeze.
Bend to a smaller angle to
compensate.
Increase squeeze. See instructions
under Adjusting the squeeze.
Bend to a larger angle to compensate.
