Using WIRES-X and the GM Function Simultaneously

You can connect to the local node of WIRES-X even when the GM (group monitor)
function of FTM-400DR/DE is in use. By forming a group that includes local nodes and
organizing the GM, group members can utilize WIRES-X to communicate with a node or
room on the Internet, including exchanging data.
This section explains how to use a local node which is registered as a group member.
For details on how to use the GM functions, refer to the separate GM instruction manual
available on the Yaesu website.
Cautions
z The GM function needs to be activated in a digital station that is used for the local node as well.
z Before using the GM function, press
to a mode other than "FM". For details, please refer to "Switching the Communication Mode" in the
instruction manual.

Press and hold
The group list will appear.

Rotate
or touch the screen to select [ALL]

Touch [ALL]
Call signs and signal strength of other nearby stations
will appear.
Tips
• The connected local node is highlighted in yellow.
• Mobile stations within communication range are
highlighted in green.
