Special Playback Functions
The following Special Playback Functions can be activated
whenever a tape is playing. To resume normal playback,
press
again or press
PLAY
Play Still - Pause the tape for a stop action picture.
Press
on the remote control, or press
PAUSE
the front panel to enter Play Still mode. The picture will
freeze on the screen. "Still" will appear on the Front Panel
Display.
Frame Advance - Search a tape frame-by-frame.
While in Play Still mode, press
the picture one frame. If the deck remains in Play Still
mode for 5 minutes, it will resume playing to prevent
tape damage.
Slow Motion - Play tapes in Slow Motion.
Press SLOW – or SLOW + (number keys "8" and "9") on
the remote control to enter Slow Motion Playback.
"Slow" will appear on the Front Panel Display. Each time
you press SLOW –, the playback slows down a little and
each time you press SLOW +, the slow motion playback
speeds up a little.
Picture Search - Search a tape at high speed.
Press and release
"Cue" will appear on the Front Panel Display.
Press and release
"Revew" will appear on the Front Panel Display.
Jet Search - Search a tape at extra-high speed.
While in Forward Picture Search, press and release
to enter Forward Jet Search. "Cue" will blink on the Front
Panel Display. Release the
While in Reverse Picture Search, press and release
enter Reverse Jet Search. "Revew" will blink on the Front
Panel Display. Release the
Repeat - Replay the last 30 seconds of tape.
Press
to repeat the last 30 seconds of tape. The
REPEAT
tape will reverse picture search for 30 seconds and then
resume playing.
Skip - Skip forward from 1 to 5 minutes.
Press
once to forward picture search for 1 minute.
SKIP
Press
again to forward picture search for 2 min-

picture search up to 5 minutes. This allows you to skip
commercials while playing back tapes.
Note: Noise bars, poor or no color during special
playback functions is normal and is not a fault
condition.
