Connector J5 is the port labeled PRINTER on the MVME712M front
panel. This is a Centronics type parallel port. Each pin connection, signal
mnemonic, and signal characteristic for the printer port connector is listed
in the following table.

Signal Name and Description
DATA STROBE - an active low output pulse used to
clock data from the system to the printer.
DATA (bit 0)
DATA (bit 1)
DATA (bit 2)

DATA (bit 7)
DATA ACKNOWLEDGE - a low level input pulse
indicating that the next character may be sent.
BUSY - an input signal indicating that the printer
cannot receive data.
PAPER EMPTY - out of paper.
SELECTED - an input signal indicating that the printer
is selected.
Not used.
GROUND
Not used.
GROUND
INPUT PRIME - an output signal that clears the
printer buffer and initializes the logic.
FAULT - an input signal that indicates a printer fault
condition.
