4.6.1 ALARM ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

When the designated alarm occurs, it will be visible on the OMT and/or reported to the OMC.
If the OMC does not acknowledge after a time-out of three minutes, the same alarm will be reported to the
OMT / OMC. After each time-out, the un-acknowledged alarm will be reported again with a total of three
attempts. If the alarm is acknowledged within the time-out period, and the alarm reporting will stop.
Alarm is cleared after the necessary diagnosis and rectification has been carried out, and the on-screen
indicator for the designated alarm will change to green.
Every twenty-four hours, the equipment is reset automatically, and any alarm messages held within the
equipment will be cleared. For every five dial-up attempts, the equipment will be reset automatically, and
any alarm messages held within the equipment will be cleared.
If the 'Power Supply' is 'ON', then no alarm will be generated for Power Down and Power Fault conditions.
Occasional operation tasks are required to handle the alarms. These are given in the following table:

INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR SR-1910
Diagnosis
Check AC power cable and verify AC mains supply is normal. During
power fault alarm, DC power supply has no output. Check if DC
output power is overloaded or short-circuited. The PSU could be
faulty.
Check power and signal connections of respective modules. If the
power and signal wire connections are OK, then the respective
modules may be faulty. Replace the fault modules and return it to the
factory for repair.
In the cascaded system, check the RS-485 connection between the
master and slave units are well established (including RS-485
connecotr, RS-485 bus, etc.)
Eliminate alarm by correct setting of DL Input Overload Threshold.
The recommended power threshold is within the range of 10~40dBm.
If alarm can not be cleared, check the equipment.
Eliminate alarm by correct setting of temperature threshold. If alarm
can not be cleared, apply climatic protection to the equipment
Close the enclosure door.
Check whether the battery backup is abnormal (refer to the
maintenance section). If it is, the battery should be replaced.
If either of the external devices connected to the SR-1910 is indicated
at fault, check the external devices according to Table 4.
