[F FWD] key
While stopped, pressing this key fast-forwards the transport.
During playback, pressing this key cues the transport in the forward direction at up to
double speed.
By pressing this key while holding down the [STOP/CANCEL] key locates the record end
point (REC END) of the file.

[REWIND] key
While stopped, pressing this key rewinds the transport.
During playback, pressing this key cues the transport in the reverse direction at up to
normal speed.
By pressing this key while holding down the [STOP/CANCEL] key locates the beginning
(ABS 0) of the file.
With a file recorded in the MP3 mode, you cannot operate cueing playback.

DC IN jack
This jack is used to connect the supplied AC adaptor. See page 20.

[ANALOG IN (L, R)] connectors
These connectors are "Combo" type (both 1/4" and XLR) and can connect an external
microphone via the XLR connector or an external line level source via the 1/4" connector
(though you cannot connect both simultaneously).
You can adjust the L and R input levels independently using the [TRIM] controls.
When you use the [ANALOG IN] connectors, select the source to "Input" using

the quick setup function or using the "Source Sel" item on the Setup menu in the MENU
mode (see pages 55 and 94). If the source is set to the internal microphones, the [ANA-
LOG IN] connectors are disabled.

[REMOTE] jack (stereo mini jack)
This jack is used for connecting the remote controller which is supplied with the unit (see
page 52).
Using the remote controller, you can enter record standby mode, start recording, or mark
cue points.
