Making an Emergency Call

Your radio may be programmed with an emergency call
function.

About Emergency calls

There are two different types of emergency call that may
be programmed for your radio, both of which are
activated using an assigned function key:
I
Selective emergency call (Selcall): Sends an
emergency call sequence to a group or individual.
I
DTMF emergency call: Sends an emergency call
sequence to a telephone or remote device.
When an emergency call has been made, the radio enters
emergency mode and cycles between receiving and
transmitting so that your operator can hear activity near
the radio. For your safety, the radio displays no signs that
an emergency call has been made.
