Note: If the message
the battery is too low, and the radio will stop
operating. Turn off the radio immediately and
recharge.
Short condition the radio's battery:

Weekly.
Long condition the radio's battery:

When battery performance has deteriorated.

Following prolonged storage.

Charging the Battery

Do not press the blue conditioning button
when charging the battery – this button is only
used for conditioning the battery.
To charge the battery:

Turn off the radio.

Insert the battery/radio into the charger (the charger
LED glows red).
When the charger LED glows steady green, the battery
is charged.
Note: For up to 30 minutes after removing
the battery from the charger, the battery
indicator will not accurately reflect the
battery's charge.
Battery charging involves three stages:
Stage
Function
Fast
Brings the battery up to near
charge
full capacity.
Trickle
Slowly tops up the battery until
charge
it is at its full capacity.
Stand-by
Keeps the battery at its full
charge
capacity, as long as the radio is
turned off.
Maintaining Your Radio
BATTERY IS FLAT
LED Indicator
Glows red.
Flashes green.
Glows steady
green.
