3-4-2. Turning Power Off (System Off Mode)
There are two ways to turn off the power.
1) Turning power off manually
Disconnect the USB cable.
When the sleep switch is available, you can also turn off
the power by setting the sleep switch to Sleep.
2) Turning power off automatically
Turn off the computer. The printer also turns off when the
computer enters stand-by or hibernates.
In this status, the printer is receiving a minute amount of
power and is still operating. To turn off the power completely,
disconnect the USB cable and the power cable.
CAUTION
• Depending on the computer that is connected to the printer, the printer may not enter the system
off mode even if the computer is turned off.
• Depending on the type of hub used, the printer may not enter the system off mode even if the
computer is turned off.
Precautions regarding USB connections
1) Depending on the settings and configurations, the printer may not operate correctly with some
computers even if they meet the conditions for the connection environment. In addition, operation
is not guaranteed for connections through a USB hub or USB extension board, or for home-built
or modified computers.
2) Connect the USB cable directly to the computer's USB port. If the printer is connected through a
USB hub or other device, the printer may not operate correctly.
3) This printer requires an electrical current of 100 mA/USB port or more for a given length of time
during operations, such as startup. If the electrical current is less than 100 mA, the following de-
vices may malfunction.
