Removing and replacing parts

Use the removal and replacement procedures when you repair, maintain, or exchange the parts in the
®
IBM Power
System E880C (9080-MHE), IBM Power System E870C (9080-MME), IBM Power System E880
(9119-MHE), or IBM Power System E870 (9119-MME) server.
Problems on your managed system are reported to the management console as serviceable events. You
can view the problem, manage problem data, report the event to your service provider, or repair the
problem. On a regular basis, review and close any open serviceable events that have been repaired on the
management console.
To repair a problem by using the Hardware Management Console, see Repairing a part by using the
HMC(http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/POWER8/p8haj/p8haj_hmc_repair.htm). If you
were sent to this procedure from another procedure to replace a specific part, see Exchange
FRU(http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/POWER8/p8ha1/smexchangefru.htm).

Removing the time-of-day batteries at the end of life of your server

Learn how to remove the time-of-day batteries from the IBM Power System E880C (9080-MHE), IBM
