Important Information The technical data is not binding and not an expressly warranted characteristic of the goods. It is subject to change. Please Electrostatic discharge caused by touching the consult our General Conditions board can damage certain components. of Supply. We recommend installing the necessary precau- tions, such as an antistatic workplace, appropriate connection to a metal waterpipe, etc. To warrant adequate protection against accidental contact per DIN/EN 60355-1, the external cable installation should be insulated accordingly, i.e. protected against contact. Attention: This manual is not to be applied alone, but should be used in conjunction with the instruction manual for the valve onto which the actuator is mounted or shall be mounted. Work on the actuator may only be done by an authorized technician. According to the machine guideline 98/37/EG (previously 89/392/EWG), these actuators/valves are not considered machines, but may be built into an installation which is considered a machine. Under such circumstances, the following infor- mation must be noted. Please note: We explicitly specify that operation is prohibited until it has been made certain that the machine (equipment), into which this product has been built, corresponds to the regulations of the EC Machine Guideline 98/37/EG (previously 89/392/EWG).

1. General features Pneumatically operated valves are being used increasingly not only as OPEN/CLOSED valves, but are being controlled by external analog command variables. With the DSR 100, 101, 102 positioners, DIASTAR pneumatic actuators and rotary actuators type PA 30–PA 70 for 0°–90° ) can be used as positioners. The positioners can be mounted on order in the plant or retrofitted later in the field. ‡...

5.1 Mounting kit without window for DV DIASTAR DN 15 – DN 150 5.1.3 The needle (¢2) is centered in the adapter (¢–5) with the corresponding parts (remove indicator disk). (For DN 100–150 also place the needle protector on the needle and then – insert in adapter). 5.1.4 Place o-ring (6) on adapter (7) and screw onto DV DIASTAR (Check the distance Yu, see below). 5.1.5 Insert DSR positioner (8) in adapter (7) and fasten with threaded studs (9).
5.2 Mounting kit with window for DV DIASTAR DN 15 –DN 150 5.2.1 Place the o-ring (1) in the slot provided in the mounting kit (2). 5.2.2 Screw the mounting kit onto the DV- DIASTAR (Check the distance H, see below). 5.2.3 Mount the needle (3) on DV DIASTAR (3x) (For DN 100–150 place the needle protector on the needle and then insert in adapter). 5.2.4 Mount the DSR positioner (4) on the adapter of the mounting kit (2) and fasten with threaded studs (5).

6. Connections 6.1 Pneumatic Supply air pressure The supply air is connected via Connector «P» (G ⁄ “). The supply air pressure must correspond to the minimum value indicated on the typeplate. It must not exceed 6 bar as otherwise malfunctions can occur and requires 5-10em filtering. 6.2 Electric Electrical connections For the electrical connection of the control signal (set value), a twisted cable is recommended. The power supply connection should be done via a separate cable and the system should also be groun- ded (grounding on the board). The terminal screws for the individual connections are accessible when the cover of the positioner is removed (see Wiring Diagram on page 29). ‡...

7. Adjusting the positioner 7.1 Adjusting the DSR type positioner The positioner was calibrated before leaving the plant. Generally, adjustments are only necessary if a replacement was done (see Chapter 4), in which case you proceed as follows: 7.1.1 Automatic adjustment: – Press both «IN» and «OUT» simultaneously until the LED blinks (after about 2–3 seconds) and then let go. – The valve does several stroke movements (open/ close), the end of which is indicated by the stea- dy burning of the LED. Confirm the adjustment by pressing the IN/OUT buttons simultaneously within 3 seconds. If the LED blinks, there is an error (see page 31). 7.1.2 Manual adjustment: (generally not required) – Press both «IN» and «OUT» simultaneously until the LED blinks (after about 2–3 seconds) and then let go. – The valve does several stroke movements (open/ close), the end of which is indicated by the steady burning of the LED. If the LED blinks, there is an error (e.g. not enough supply air pressure).
8. Failure signal If necessary, the failure signal (terminals K1.1 and K1.2) can be used to analyze valve function. The fai- lure signal is activated if the positioner is not able to comply the actual value (stroke) with the set value (control signal); for example if there is no or too low supply air pressure. In this case, the LED on the connector board lights up. Direct circuit: Us = signal voltage No failure function: low signal Failure function: 0.5 Hz impulse max. working voltage: U =24 V DC B,max external load R: e.g. 470 Ω max. signal current: = 50 mA s,max Relay (recovery diode for inductive loads!) 9. Troubleshooting Problem Possible causes Controller fails/ – Connected incorrectly does not work (electr. and pneum.) – Operating error – Control pressure too high – Electronics defective – Sensor defective – Transport damage ‡...
