Unpacking
Upon receipt of the equipment, please check the
packaging for damage before signing for it. If there is
any damage, contact the Genevac Service department
or your local distributor immediately. Refer to the
Genevac website:

Packaging
To unpack the wooden crate, undo the lid retaining
screws and remove the lid. Undo the screws from the
base of the timber sleeve and carefully lift the sleeve
clear of the evaporator.
Lifting
Make sure there are enough people to share the lifting
safely. Carefully lift the EZ-2 slightly at first to feel the
weight and to find the centre of gravity. When ready,
manually lift the EZ-2 into position using the handholds
in the base.
Alternatively, use mechanical lifting equipment such as
a lifting table or fork lift.

Caution: The hand holds are for
manual lifting only. Do not insert lifting
forks.

Installation site
Place the EZ-2 on a level and sturdy work surface.
Make sure there is enough space for:
A 50 mm air gap between the EZ-2 and the edge
of the bench, a wall or any other equipment
Access to the exhaust catch-pot (to be fitted to the
right hand side of the EZ-2)
An exhaust line to be connected from the exhaust
catch-pot to a suitable laboratory fume extraction
system
The mains cable.

Note: The EZ-2 may be placed in a fume cupboard.
To maintain a vapour free environment around the
EZ-2, do not store vessels containing solvents or
acids within the fume cupboard.
