Low-noise mode
When this mode is set to On, the noise is reduced, but the printing speed is slower.
Copy mode
This setting allows you to set printing density. This mode can be set if the density is low when
printing on copy paper. However, when On is selected, you can print at a higher density, but the
printing speed will be slower. Select On when printing on copy paper.When Off is selected, you
can print at normal density. The Windows driver can also be set for each print job. See "Printer
settings" on page 52.
Disable IPsec/IP Filtering
You can disable IPsec/IP Filtering.
Link Speed & Duplex
You can select an appropriate Ethernet speed and duplex setting. If you select a setting other than
Auto, make sure the setting corresponds to the settings on the hub you are using.

Changing default settings

Follow these steps to enter the Default Setting mode and change the printer's default settings:
Note:
❏ To print the Default Setting mode instructions, you need several sheets of A4 or Letter size
single-sheet paper, or several pages of continuous paper that is at least 279 mm (11 inches) long
and 210 mm (8.27 inches) wide.
❏ If you use single sheets, you need to feed a new sheet of paper each time the printer ejects a printed
sheet.
1. Make sure the printer is turned on and paper is loaded.
2. Press and hold the Menu (o and d) buttons until the Font lights start flashing.
The printer enters the Default Setting mode and prints a message prompting you to select the
language for the Default Setting menu. The language which is underlined indicates the current
setting.
