Alarm message on monitor
screen (Cause)
A non-standard ref. signal is being
used for REF. VIDEO.
Abnormal settings selected in setup
menu.
Audio mixing mode cannot be
changed during recording.
Audio not editable on this tape.
Audio REC mode selection different
from audio on tape.
Audio REC (recording) mode cannot
be changed during recording.
Battery needs to be replaced with a
new one. Please contact service
personnel.
Cassette adaptor not usable.
Change the HDV/DV i.LINK input
setting.
Counter mode is selected.
Input selection cannot be changed in
REC (recording) mode.
Input signal does not conform to
DVCAM/DV format.
Input signal is 625/50.
Input signal is 525/60.
Input video is not detected.
Input video signal does not
synchronize with REF. VIDEO
signal.
Moisture has been detected.
No cassette in VTR.
Non DVCAM/DV(SP) format source. −
Rec inhibit mode is selected.
Record inhibit plug on the cassette is

Select DVCAM recording format.
Tape cannot be replayed.

Direction
Use a standard signal.
Correct the setup menu settings. Contact your Sony
dealer if this alarm message appears again after
making corrections.
Use a tape recorded in 2-channel/48 kHz or 4-
channel/32 kHz mode.
Use a tape having audio signals recorded in locked
mode.
Select the same audio recording mode as that of
the tape.
Use a tape without cassette adaptor.
Use the COUNTER SELECT button to light the TC
or UB time data type indicator in the display section.
Check the indicator in the video area in the input
signal display and supply an appropriate video
signal.
Use a reference video signal.
Keep the power on and wait until this alarm
message disappears.
Load a cassette.
Set the REC INHIBIT menu item (see page 74) to
OFF.
Set the REC/SAVE switch on the cassette to REC.
Set the remote control switch to LOCAL.
Set the REC FORMAT menu item (see page 74) to
DVCAM.
Use a tape recorded in 525/60 format.
Use a tape recorded in 625/50 format.
Use a new cleaning tape.
