HOOD PROTECTOR
Honda Pilot 2003- 2005

Thank you for purchasing a form fit hood protector.

Care Instructions

Clean the protector with a mild soap and water solution or plastic cleaner only.
Periodically check to make sure all the hardware is in place and the protector is secure.

Attention!

Do not use chemicals or solvents. Avoid using automatic car washes. Do not pull on the
protector when opening or closing the hood.

Installation Instruction

1. Open the hood. Be sure that the hood is clean and dry inside and out.
2. Center the protector on the hood to familiarize yourself with the mounting holes locations.
3. Set the protector aside. Press the expansion plugs into the holes determined in step two.
4. Re-place the protector on the hood with the expansion plugs centered in the mounting holes.
5. Assemble the washers onto the screws (rubber side toward protector) and insert the screws through the protector
into the expansion plugs. Adjust the protector for best fit then, tighten the screws into the expansion plugs (do not
over tighten). See Illustration #1.
6. Attach the anti-abrasion film pads to the hood in line with the holes in the leading edge of the protector. Fold the
pads in half over the hood edge to cover at least ½" of the underside of the hood. See Illustration # 2.
7. Slide the "C" clips on the hood in line with the holes in the protector. Be sure that the "C" clips are well seated
against the hood; it may be necessary to tap on the clips. See Illustration #2.
8. Be sure that the hole in the top of the clips lines up with the hole in the protector, then tighten the #6 x 3/8" screws,
through the protector and into the top of the "C" clips. Do not over tighten. See Illustration #2.
9. Make sure the "C" clips are fully seated and the protector is centered, then tighten each of the #4 x 3/16" screws
into the bottom of the "C" clips. Do not over tighten. See Illustration #2.
10.Install the two (2) bumpons on the hood in the location shown in Illustration # 3. Attention: The bumpons must
be installed on the hood not on the protector!!!! If the bumpons are installed on the protector, they will wear
through the paint.
11.On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.
Note: Do not pull on the protector when opening or closing the hood.

9. Make sure the "C" clips are fully seated and the deflector is centered, then tighten each of the #4 x 3/16" screws
into the bottom of the "C" clips. Do not over tighten. See Illustration #2
10.Install the two (2) bumpons on the hood in the location shown in Illustration # 3. Attention: The bumpons must
be installed on the hood not on the protector!!!! If the bumpons are installed on the protector, they will wear
through the paint.
11.On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.
Note: Do not pull on the protector when opening or closing the hood.
