INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Chrysler Intrepid 1993 - 1997
HARDWARE KIT
2 – 3M Anti-abrasion Film Pads
3 – C-322 Metal Retaining Clips
3 – Large Bumpons
1 – Alcohol Wiping Pad
2 – 6" Two sided tape – already attached to the deflector
2 – Black 'E' clips – See supplemental instruction "Installing Black 'E' Clips onto Deflector"
INSTALLATION
1. Be sure that hood is clean and dry inside and out. Installation must be done above 10° Celsius or 50° Fahrenheit for
the tape to develop best adhesion.
2. Open the hood and 'dry' fit the deflector on it. Do not remove the protective backing from the adhesive tape mounted
on the deflector yet. Center the deflector on the hood, making sure that the 'E' clips at the ends of the deflector are
resting on top of the hood.
3. Using tape, chalk or a grease pencil, make reference marks on the underside of the hood to mark where the tape and
the 'E' clips will attach to the hood.
4. Install the anti-abrasion film pads over the edge of the hood at each of the locations where the 'E' clips will fit on the
hood. Be sure to wrap the pads over the edge to cover approx. ½" underneath.
5. Using the alcohol wiping pad provided, clean all the areas on the underside of hood where the adhesive tape will
contact the hood.
6. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive tape. Be careful to keep the tape from touching the underside of
the hood, until the deflector is centered and the 'E' clips are mounted. Using the reference marks established in step
3, push 'E' clips over edge of hood onto abrasion pads installed in step 4.
7. Again, making sure that the deflector is centered, firmly press the double-sided tape into the underside of the hood.
8. Install the metal retaining clips at the three positions where the double-sided tape attaches the deflector to the
underside of the hood. Be sure to install the metal clips so that the retaining teeth are seated against the hood and
not the deflector. See illustration below. Push the metal clips in until they are fully seated.
9. Attach one of the bumpons to the hood, at the center, 4" behind the leading edge (where the deflector begins to turn
up). See illustration below. Attach one bumpon about 3" back from the front edge of the hood, directly behind each of
the 'E' clips. Attention: The bumpons must be installed on the hood not the deflector!!!! If the bumpons are
installed on the deflector they will wear through the paint.
10. On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.
It is imperative that the adhesive be allowed to set up for 24 hours before use.
Note: Do not pull on the deflector when opening or closing the hood.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Clean the deflector with a mild soap and water solution or plastic cleaner only. Do not use chemicals or
solvents. Periodically check to make sure the bumpons are in place and the deflector is secure.
Avoid using automatic car washes. Do not pull on the deflector when opening or closing the hood.
