    1. IDENTIFICATION 1.1. General The Fike Explosion Pressure Detectors are designed to continuously measure the pressures inside the protected hazards. The extremely fast response time of the Ceramic pressure detector allows the Explosion Protection Controller (EPC) to take more than one million samples every second. Using the same instantaneous speed, this information is then processed to determine if the pressure change is that of a developing explosion.

    2. WIRING INSTRUCTIONS The Ceramic Pressure Detector shall only be connected to the Fike EPC (Explosion Protection Controller) in accordance with following instructions. When connecting devices with explosion protection certificates, please comply with national standards, warnings and wiring diagrams listed in the additional explosion protection documentation accompanying these Operating Instructions.

    These inspections are to be performed by Fike Service Engineers or personnel trained and certified by Fike to do so. To perform an inspection, it is important to first obtain all pertinent data that relates to the system being inspected.

    6. DE-COMMISSIONING PROCEDURE / CHECK-LIST De-commissioning should only be performed by a Fike qualified Service Engineer, who has been assigned to prepare and complete the de-commissioning of the Explosion Protection System. Each step in a listed procedure must be adhered to and completion/acceptance of a listed form is mandatory. In the case of non-compliance, the observed discrepancy must be corrected before completion of the system de- commissioning.

    8. REPAIR AND RETURN AUTHORISATION Any component that is to be returned to Fike must be approved for return prior to shipment. In order for the returned component to receive the correct attention (credit, repair, replacement) either under warranty or at the owner's expense, a Shipping Label for prearranged return authorization must be provided by Fike.
