by purchasing this WELLER TB100 THERMA-BOOST
heat tool. Production was based on stringent quality
requirements which guarantee the perfect
operation of the device.
1. Important
Please read this operating instruction and the
attached safety information carefully prior to initial
operation. Failure to observe the safety regulations
results in a risk to life and limb. The manufacturer
shall not be liable for damage resulting from
misuse of the machine or unauthorised alterations.
Repairs especially the replacing of the power
supply cord must be carried out by a qualified
electricien only.
2. Description
This unique tool combines the best features of a
soldering gun and soldering iron –fast heat up,
continuous use and light weight. The tool heats up
to working temperature quickly with the use of a
second stage THERMA- BOOST mode. Due to the
unique design, the tool can be used continuously.
A traditional soldering gun can only be used
intermittently. The tool very light weight and
comfortable to use continuously. A variety of tips
allows use for repairs, hobbies, crafts, foam cutting,
model making and home electronics.

3. Commissioning
Take care when unpacking the unit and
accessories. Make sure that there are no combus-
tible objects in the vicinity of the tool. Place the sol-
dering tool in the rest. Insert the mains connector of
the soldering iron in the mains socket-outlet. When
the required heating-up time has passed, coat the
soldering tip with a small amount of solder. The
WELLER THERMA- BOOST allows you to operate in
Standard mode for normal soldering and THERMA-
BOOST mode for fast heat up and thermal loads.
There is a control circuit that switches you back
to Standard mode after 45 seconds to prevent the
gun from overheating while in the THERMA-BOOST
mode. The THERMA-BOOST mode is designed
to give you quick bursts of added power when
you need it. This mode is designed to be used inter
mittently. The green and red lights on the back
of the gun indicate various operational stages, as
indicated in this chart.

About 45 sec. Tool must return to normal operating
temperaturebefore triger will activate 130 Watt
THERMA-BOOST mode. After activating the
THERMA-BOOST mode the first time, susequent
cycles are 8 sec. in length.
4. Tips
The WELLER THERMA-BOOST heat tool comes with
a variety of tips for numerous uses – adding to the
versatility of this unique tool.
5. Safety information
The following safety regulations must be
observed to protect the health of personnel and
to prevent electric shocks, injury and the risk of
fire. The mains cable must only be plugged into
the mains socket or adapter approved for this
purpose. Operate the soldering tool only with
the specified voltage. Do not use the soldering
tool for purposes for which it is not designed.
Use only accessories that are listed in the
accessories list in the Operating Instructions.
Even after switching off, or removal, the
soldering tip / hot bar still requires a certain
time to cool down. Protect yourself against
electric shocks. Avoid touching earthed objects.
Never work on voltage-carrying parts.
Children and other unauthorised persons must
stay clear of the work area.
Store your soldering tool in a safe place.
Protect yourself against solder splashes.
Wear suitable protective clothing. Protect your
eyes by wearing eye protectors.
Never carry the soldering tool by the cable. Do
not use the cable to pull the plug out of the
socket. Avoid unintentional starting.
The soldering tool must be operated only in
perfect technical working order. Damaged parts
must be immediately repaired or replaced.
Use original WELLER spare parts only.
