Home theater sound setup

After setting up your front speakers as shown
below, refer to the supplied setup guide, or
Using the wireless speaker system on page 10
for more wireless speaker placement options.
This is a standard multichannel surround
sound speaker setup:
Front left
Using the Auto MCACC setup for
optimal surround sound
The Multichannel Acoustic Calibration
(MCACC) system measures the acoustic
characteristics of your listening area, taking
into account ambient noise and testing for
channel delay and channel level. After you
have set up the microphone provided with your
system, the receiver uses the information from
a series of test tones to optimize the speaker
settings and equalization (Acoustic Calibration
EQ) for your particular room.
Important
• These test tones can be loud, so take care
that there is no one in the room who will be
startled by the noise.
Note
1 You only need to use the Auto MCACC setup once (unless you change the placement of your speakers or your room layout).

• Make sure the mic and speakers are not
moved during the MCACC setup.
• The MCACC setup is not possible if the
wireless speaker mode is set to Stereo or
Off (see Using the wireless speaker system
on page 10 for more on this).
• To access green functions on the remote,
move the slider switch from MAIN to SUB.

1 Connect the microphone to the MCACC
MIC jack on the rear panel.

2 Place the microphone at your normal
listening position.
Place the mic about ear level at your normal
listening position using a table or chair.
Make sure there are no obstacles between the
speakers and the microphone.
3 If the receiver is off, press
STANDBY/ON to turn the power on.
4 If the wireless speaker is off, press
POWER to turn the power on.
5 Press MCACC SET UP.
Try to be as quiet as possible after pressing
MCACC SET UP. The volume increases
automatically and the system outputs a series
of test tones.
