This information highlights known use errors that constitute improper and unsafe use of a high suction device, such as the Neptune Rover. Stryker has received incident reports of serious injury and/or death associated with operating high suction devices.

  • Page 10 1 1 . . 6 6 . . I I n n d d i i c c a a t t i i o o n n s s F F o o r r U U s s e e The Neptune S Waste Management System is indicated for use in procedures where collecting and disposing of fluid waste and capturing suctioned tissue specimens is desired.
  • Page 11 The Stryker Neptune S Waste Management System consists of the Neptune S Rover (rover), the Neptune 2 Docking Station (docker), and supporting accessories. The Stryker Neptune S Rover (rover) is a reusable, non-sterile mobile unit that suctions and collects fluid waste during a surgical procedure. Suction is created to facilitate collection via an integrated vacuum pump.
  • Page 12 After use in a surgical procedure, the rover is relocated and attached to the docker, which is typically installed in a hospital’s waste disposal area. Once the rover is attached, the docker empties the rover’s canister of fluid waste for subsequent disposal.
