6.1.1 Installation
PROBLEM
You cannot make/receive
calls via an IP network.
SIP phones do not operate. • Mother board
Extensions do not operate.
PROBABLE CAUSE
• Mother board
malfunction
• Poor connection
• Network malfunction
malfunction
• SIP phone not registered
• SIP phone malfunction
• Poor connection
• Network malfunction
• Extension card
malfunction
• Poor connection
between the PBX and
the extension
• Extension malfunction
SOLUTION
• Replace the mother board (be sure to turn
off the PBX when replacing).
• Make sure that an 8-pin twisted pair cable
is used for connection.
• Make sure that none of the CAT 5/CAT 5e
cables in use are over 100 m in length.
• Make sure that a straight cable is used for
connection to a switching hub.
• Make sure that all network devices in use
are switched on.
• Make sure that there is no unwanted
firewall in the IP network.
• Replace the mother board (be sure to turn
off the PBX when replacing).
• Register the corresponding SIP phone.
• Replace the SIP phone.
• Make sure that an 8-pin twisted pair cable
is used for connection.
• Make sure that none of the CAT 5/CAT 5e
cables in use are over 100 m in length.
• Make sure that a straight cable is used for
connection to a switching hub.
• Make sure that all network devices in use
are switched on.
• Make sure that the SIP phone is not blocked
by the firewall or other network devices.
• Replace the corresponding card.
• Take the extension and plug it into the
same extension port using a short
telephone cord. If the extension works,
then the connection between the PBX and
the extension must be repaired.
• Take the extension and plug it into
another extension port that is working. If
the extension does not work, replace the
extension.
