4.3 Charging
8. The device locks the plug into the socket.
9. After the plug is locked successfully, the charging process starts automatically and the LED
status indicator pulsates blue. The vehicle is now being charged. The plugs are still protected
against unauthorized removal.
10.The HMI informs you about the current charging status.
11.The vehicle is fully charged as soon as the LED status indicator changes from flashing to
permanently lit.
The status LED pulsating in blue indicates that current is flowing to the vehicle and the
vehicle battery is charging. The status LED lights up permanently in blue in the following
cases:
• The vehicle is not drawing power.
– The charging station pauses, for example, because of load management
– The vehicle pauses the charging
• The charging of the vehicle battery is completed.
Completing the charging
Your vehicle is being charged as long as the light pulsates in blue. Charging is complete when
the light of the LED status indicator is constant.
You can stop charging at any time.
Note
Option: Permanently installed charging cables
After charging, place the permanently installed charging cable in the holder provided.
Cables that are not stowed may cause the following hazards:
• You may trip over it
• Damage to the plug
• Damage to the cable
• Moisture may enter the plug
