M anual M ode and Port M onitoring
In manual mod e , you can se le ct a p ort manually throug h the b uttons on the
Bitronics switch. Y ou can also use this mod e in conjunction with software to
se e your switch in action!
• Pre ss CO MPUTER to se le ct which comp ute r p ort you wish to config ure or
monitor. For the comp ute r conne cte d to Port 1, p re ss the CO MPUTER
b utton until the LED on Port 1 is lit up e ithe r in re d or g re e n.
• Pre ss the PRINTER b utton until the LED of the ap p rop riate d e vice p ort
you wish to use is lit up .
For e xamp le , if you want
comp ute r 2 to use the
d e vice on p ort B, p re ss the
CO MPUTER b utton until the
LED on " 2" is lit up . The n,
p re ss the PRINTER b utton
until LED " B" is lit up .
To use File Transfe r mod e , p re ss the PRINTER b utton until the LED on the
comp ute r p ort turns g re e n. Whe n the LED turns g re e n, the p ort is re ad y for
file transfe r mod e . For file transfe r mod e to b e succe ssful for b oth PCs, b oth
comp ute r p orts must b e se t to file transfe r mod e – which is e vid e nt whe n the
LEDs ne xt to 1 and 2 are g re e n. For more information on File Transfe r, p le ase
se e p ag e 25.
Note: Comp ute r 1 can only file transfe r to comp ute r 2, and comp ute r
3 can file transfe r to comp ute r 4. If you chang e the p orts
manually using the b uttons, the chang e s mad e will not b e
re fle cte d in the software .
