Using the File Transfer Feature
The file transfe r fe ature of the Bitronics switch allows b oth comp ute rs to
conne ct as if the re we re a file transfe r cab le conne cte d b e twe e n the m. To
d o this, d oub le -click on the Bitronics switch syste m tray icon, click on File
Transfe r, and click O K. The LED of the corre sp ond ing comp ute r p ort on the
Bitronics switch will turn g re e n. This LED re p re se nts the comp ute r you are
on now is se t for file transfe r mod e .
Ne xt, the se cond PC must also p e rform the same op e ration. Whe n b oth se ts
of PC LEDs on the Bitronics switch are g re e n, the n the comp ute rs are re ad y
for file transfe r. At this p oint, the cab le s and the Bitronics switch act as if it
we re a file transfe r cab le . Y ou can now run p rog rams such as Wind ows
Dire ct Cab le Conne ction, or Lap Link
we b site s for information on how to config ure the ir software . Just re me mb e r
that your Bitronics switch se tup mimics the file transfe r cab le re q uire me nt.
NOTE: Comp ute r 1 can only file transfe r to comp ute r 2, and comp ute r
3 can file transfe r to comp ute r 4. If you chang e the p orts
manually using the b uttons, the chang e s mad e will not b e
re fle cte d in the software .
