Cleaning and maintenance

Always switch off the engine and allow the
generator to cool before undertaking any
maintenance.
Clean by wiping all surfaces with a damp
cloth.
Regularly lubricate all moving parts with
lubricating oil and check for rust formation.
Check the exhaust system for oil leaks daily.
Air � lter
Remove and clean the air � lter every 3
months or 50 hours of operation.
Open the clamps holding the air � lter cover
(18) in place. Remove the cover.
Take the � lter element out.
Clean the � lter element in hot water and
mild detergent. Rinse with clean water. Press
the water out of the � lter element and allow
it to dry. Pour new engine oil onto the � lter
element, and press any excess oil from it.
Replace the � lter element, and replace the
cover.
Remember! Never start the generator
without the air � lter in place.

Checking the oil level
Always check the oil level before use.
Unscrew the oil bung (14).
Remove the dipstick and wipe. Replace the
dipstick in the nozzle without screwing the
bung tight. Pull up the dipstick and read the
oil level off the dipstick. If necessary re� ll
with SAE 10W-40 engine oil so that it reaches
the MAX mark on the dipstick.
Screw the oil bung tightly back into place.
Changing the oil
Change the engine oil completely after the
� rst month or 20 hours of operation, and
thereafter every 6 months or 100 hours of
operation.
Hold a suitable container under the oil
drainage cap (15).

Open the oil bung (14) and unscrew the oil
drainage cap. Tilt the generator and drain the
used engine oil. Dispose of the used oil in
accordance with local rules and regulations.
Tip: Changing engine oil is easiest when the
engine is warm and the oil is � uid.
Carefully screw the oil drainage cap tightly
back into place.
Re� ll with fresh, clean SAE 10W-40 engine oil
until the oil reaches the edge of the nozzle.
Screw the oil bung tightly back into place.
