Special safety instructions

REMEMBER TO FILL WITH OIL BEFORE USE!
Never use mixed petrol, petroleum or diesel
mixed with oil in the tank.
Clean up any spilt fuel with a dry cloth after
refuelling.
Smoking and the use of naked � ames during
fuelling is forbidden.
Never � ll up with fuel or engine oil when the
generator is running.
Do not over� ll fuel or oil, as this can cause a
risk of � re.
Store matches and in� ammable materials
at a safe distance from the generator, as
exhaust gases are very hot and may ignite
such materials.
The generator must be at least 1 metre from
buildings and other objects when in use, to
ensure adequate ventilation.
Never use in rain or snow or at ambient
temperatures over 40° C.
Never use the generator if there is insuffi cient
ventilation.
Exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide,
which is highly dangerous to humans and
animals if inhaled.
The generator should stand on a level
surface.
Do not touch the generator during and
shortly after use. It may be very hot.
The generator must be earthed to prevent
electric shock. Connect a heavy-duty cable
between the generator's earth terminal and
an external earth connection.
Never connect to mains electricity.
The load must be kept within the rating
indicated on the generator rating plate.
Do not connect electrical equipment to the
generator before it is started, and note that
most electrical devices require more watts
than stated on the rating plate when starting.
Only connect electrical equipment that is in a
good condition.
Do not use if the engine is running roughly
or is defective.
Voltage generated can � uctuate and should
therefore not be used for charging mobile
phones, rechargeable batteries or sensitive
chargers.
When charging car batteries and the
like, observe all relevant safety rules. Pay
particular attention to the fact that battery
acid is corrosive and that explosive gases can
be given off .
To prevent � uctuations that may damage
the equipment, do not allow the engine to
run out of fuel when electrical equipment is
connected.
Do not allow others to operate the generator
without thorough instruction. Never allow
children to use the generator.
Never try to start a car engine or the like with
a battery connected to the generator.
Never start the generator without the air
� lter in place.
Always follow the maintenance instructions
in the section on cleaning and maintenance.
Running-in
Do not overload for the � rst 20 hours of
operation and check the oil regularly. Change
the oil when necessary.
