Preparations before start

Remember to � ll the generator with oil
before using it!
Check the oil level as described under
Checking the oil level.
Check the petrol level. Top up the petrol if
necessary.
Check the fuel cap (2) is correctly closed after
� lling.
Check that there are no electrical devices are
connected to the generator's power outlets
(9, 10, 12).

Starting and stopping the engine

Starting the engine
Turn the petrol cock (21) to the ON position.
Set the choke (22) to the OFF position to
make the petrol mix richer if the engine is
cold. Set the choke to the ON position if the
engine is warm.

Place the ignition key in the ignition lock
(4) and turn the key to the START position.
Release the ignition key so that it returns
to the ON position as soon as the engine is
running.

You can also start the engine manually.
Place the ignition key in the ignition lock (4)
and turn the key to the ON position.
Pull the starter handle (17) all the way out
until the engine starts. Repeat if the engine
fails to start � rst time.
Set choke to the ON position once the
engine is warm.
Do not allow the starter handle to recoil onto
the generator. Allow the cable to rewind
slowly.
Never pull the starter handle when the
engine is running to avoid damage to the
engine.
Set the switches (7, 8) to the ON position to
switch on the power outlets.
