v Turn on the appliance by pressing the power button located on the front of the
appliance.
v Verify that the power LED is illuminated.
After replacing the module, you can verify that the new module is working if:
v You are able to connect to the network after you plug in the cable and the link
status LED is lit.
v The fault LED light on the front of the chassis is not illuminated.
If you are replacing a failed Ethernet module, verify that the replacement module
is working and return the failed part to IBM. See "Returning an appliance or part"
on page 36 for details on returning parts to IBM.
