Chapter 5. Diagnosing your appliance

Before you perform maintenance on this product, read the safety information in
"Safety" on page v.

Understanding Type 7199 LEDs

There are LEDs on the front and back of the Type 7199 appliance to help you
diagnose possible problems. The following LEDs are included on the front and rear
of the Type 7199 appliance.

7199 front panel LEDs

Figure 12 shows the LEDs on the front of the Type 7199 appliance:

The front of the appliance has the following LEDs:

If the green LED is lit, it indicates that the hard drive is active.
If the amber LED is lit, it indicates that the hard drive has failed.
If the fault LED is amber, the appliance has detected a critical error condition.
The fault LED is activated by the DataPower firmware, and not illuminated
when deactivated by the DataPower firmware.
The blue locate LED is lit when an administrator is trying locate and identify
a certain appliance in the rack. The locate LED is activated by the DataPower
firmware, and the locate LED is turned of when deactivated by the
DataPower firmware.
The power LED indicates the status of the power source for the appliance.
v If the green power LED is illuminated, the appliance is on and fully
functioning
v If the LED is not illuminated, the appliance has been turned off.
The speed LED for the MGT0 and MGT1 Ethernet interfaces indicates the
connection speed.
v If the LED is illuminated in green, the connection speed is 1 Gbps.
