Powertrain requires service
Avoid hard acceleration
An issue has been detected in the powertrain system. The vehicle is OK to drive, but you should schedule service as
soon as possible for a powertrain inspection.
Your vehicle has detected excessive backlash (lash) between the drive unit and the wheels. High, or excessive, lash is
indicative of mechanical wear.
There are many possible causes, so a powertrain inspection is needed.
Your vehicle is OK to drive to your immediate destination and to a service center. Avoid hard or heavy acceleration,
as this puts more stress on the powertrain.
Schedule a service appointment at your earliest opportunity. If this issue is not addressed, your vehicle might
unexpectedly stop while you are driving.
