3.3 Performing the MSTP Single-Step Operation

In the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) global configuration window (operation path: ETH >
XSTP > Global Configuration), if Force Version of a device is set to MSTP or RSTP and
the device is connected to an STP device, the connected port will automatically migrate to
the STP mode.
When the device on which STP is operating is removed, the port cannot automatically
migrate to the MSTP/RSTP mode. In this case, users can perform the M_Check operation
to forcedly make the port migrate to Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) mode or
Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) mode.
Steps
1. Select ETH > XSTP > Migrate Check from the left navigation tree. The Migrate Check
pane is displayed on the right, see
Figure 3-18 M_Check Example
2. Set Port, and click the mCheck button.
