9.4 Errors and remedial actions of the 3RW55 and 3RW55 Failsafe soft starters
Cause
The mains switch or the power
supply is not plugged in correctly.
There is no power.
The temperature of the motor is too
high.
A wire has broken in the sensor cable
of the temperature sensor.
A short-circuit has occurred in the
sensor line of the temperature sensor.
The motor feeder is overloaded.
The motor temperature has ex‐
ceeded a limit.
The module has detected a problem
on the channel and has therefore exe‐
cuted a safety-related shutoff. The
possible reason is a discrepancy error.
A limit for asymmetry has been ex‐
ceeded. Asymmetry can cause an
overload. Possible causes:
Phase failure
Fault in the motor windings
Additional tripping in the case of
asymmetry
The current has exceeded a limit.
The current has undershot a limit.
Additional tripping in the event of a
current limit error overshoot or un‐
dershoot.
The ground-fault monitoring has re‐
sponded. An impermissibly high re‐
sidual current is flowing.
The supply voltage is below the per‐
mitted value.
Fault in the fieldbus communication.
You will find further information in
the manual for the 3RW5 communi‐
cation module in question.
Messages and diagnostics
Remedy
Check the cables and the cable connections
and replace defective components, if necessa‐
ry.
Check the motor and the application that is
driven by the motor.
After triggering, the motor can only be
switched on again if the temperature has
reached the release position of the temper‐
ature sensor. The acknowledgment de‐
pends on the "Response to overload tem‐
perature sensor" parameter that has been
set.
Check the sensor line and the temperature sen‐
sor.
Check the motor and the applications driv‐
en by the motor.
You can switch on the motor again after the
cooling-down period has expired or after
deleting the thermal motor model. The ac‐
knowledgment depends on the set "Re‐
sponse to overload thermal motor model".
Check the channel and eliminate the cause.
Check the motor feeder and the motor.
Check the application driven by the motor.
Check the connecting cable of the motor for
damage.
Check the power supply (load rating, voltage
range).
Check the bus connection.
Check the bus parameters.
