    Description of the System General Leica M-Com series • The ComGate10 provides the communication from the sensors in the field to the Internet by a mobile communication provider (GSM/UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA/LTE and/or WLAN). • This product portfolio offers easy installation, reliable communication, connection of multiple sensors and external devices and increased mobility for periodic or short term monitoring systems.

    – for the connection to the Internet by Ethernet cable – for the connection of any other communication module The Leica ComGate10 contains two coupling relays which can be switched digitally, for example to connect warning devices like signal lamps or sirens. One of them can be used to switch the instrument off and on automatically.

    2.2.3 Power Concept Description The Leica ComGate10 works in the low voltage range 12–48 V DC.  • In order to prevent hazards to an operator or other persons and damage to prop- erty, follow the instructions in chapter "3 Operation" and be sure to observe the precautions in chapter "1 Safety Directions".

  • Page 21 Remove the cover of the SIM card slot.  The small screw of the SIM card slot must not fall into the ComGate10. In order to protect the ComGate10 from damage, the screw must be removed from the internal of the ComGate10 and the ComGate10 must be opened.

    During the procedure the power supply should not be connected to the main supply.  Connect the power supply to the power input of the ComGate10 by using the terminal block. Connect the black wire of the power supply to the first connector (VGND) of the terminal block.

    The number of attached antennas can be configured over the web interface of the ComGate10. If only one antenna is used, it must be attached to WLAN1. However, for better diversity and thus better throughput and coverage, it is highly recommend using two antennas.

    This product must be installed only by an appropriately trained and qualified specialist. WARNING  If the sensor and the ComGate10 are connected to the same power supply, then the voltage used to power the ComGate10 must fulfil the sensor specification. Do not connect higher voltage to the sensor than specified!

    Cleaning and Drying General In general ensure that no dirt (dust, mud, water, and so on) gets into the ComGate10. Product and acces- • Use only a clean, soft, lint-free cloth for cleaning. If necessary, moisten the cloth sories with water or pure alcohol.
