Chapter1 On Installing typeS Controller
※1 RS-232C serial conmmunication using USB for TOOL (B type) is the nV-Tool dedicated port.
USB hub cannot be used. F/W download, module parameter download(DL) or other user's needed
programming functions will be provided in nV-Tool functions or by the application's package. (In the
future)
The initial setting of Windows (Guest OS) by serial connection with nV-Tool using USB for TOOL (B
type) is not avaliable. A display monitor (complying with DisplayPort), keyboard (USB connector) and
mouse (USB connector) are required to work on the desktop site, should be prepared by customer.
※2 The mode setting DIP switch is shared by PLC1 and PLC2 in multi-PLC configuraion.
The mode change is valid when PUB restart(power supply initailization, INZ). Address mode (Class B,
Class C, Free mode, etc) is applied to EN21 side (EN-B) for nV-Tool connection. TN Port and EN20
(EN-A) for TC-net VM is valid after downloading in nV-Tool.
※3 The operation switching key is shared by PLC1 and PLC2 in multi-PLC configuraion.
Example: Both PLC1&2 will be on HALT operation when the HALT key is operated, and both are RUN
when the RUN key is operated. Individual operation can be performed remotely from the RUN key state
of [System View] in nV-Tool.
※4 IP address setting (rotary switch, hexadecimal, 2 digit) applies to EN21 side (EN-B) for nV-Tool
connection. TNPort and EN20 (EN-A) used for TC-net VM becomes valid after downloaded from nV-
Tool.
※5 When using Windows desktop, customers should prepare a display monitor (complying with
displayport), keyboard (USB connector) and mouse (USB connector) are required, should be prepared
by customer.
It is necessary to use Windows desktop when setting IP address or replacing spare items. The setting of
physical address (MAC frame) used for ethernet is not supported by IP address initial setting. Windows
standard remote function takes effect after IP address setting.
Important
 Do not replace the preinstalled OS at the time of shipment.
