EAGLE (SPB / SPC) BOOM
Yaw Damping and Centre Frame Adjustments
(SPC)
Yaw damping adjustments incorporate centre frame
adjustment.
To adjust slack at point B (Fig 40), tighten / loosen bolt
( A Fig 40). This will affect the freedom of movement of
the trapeze while controlling the amount of yaw motion
of the boom.
As a gudeline:
If the boom does not work smoothly or it works in
'steps' - Loosen Bolt A slightly. This will allow a greater
amount of trapeze movement. If too loose it may lead
to uncontrollable boom movement.
If boom works too loosely or swings uncontrollably -
Tighten Bolt A. Friction against the wear pads will be
increased and free trapeze movement restricted, while
providing yaw damping.
NOTE! Do not stress the bolt (A). Only tighten till
contact is made at point B

Occasional maintenance

Regularly inspect the boom for need of maintenance.

Nozzle filters

Each nozzle assembly is equipped with a 100 mesh filter
screen as standard on units equipped with yellow Color
Tips. A properly maintained suction filter and self cleaning
Filter will minimise blocking the screens and nozzles.

Tubes and fittings

Poor seals are usually caused by:
Missing O-rings or gaskets
Damaged or incorrectly seated O-rings
Dry or deformed O-rings or gaskets
Foreign materials
Therefore, in case of leaks, do not over-tighten.
Disassemble, check condition and position of O-ring or
gasket, clean, lubricate and reassemble.
For radial connections, only hand tighten them.
O-rings must be lubricated all the way around before re-
fitting. HARDI recommends using a vegetable-based
oil to prolong the life of O-rings.

Triplets (If fitted)

Every 50 hours Triplets should be disassembled and
cleaned. To do this, pull out the stainless clip on the side
of the Triplet . Clean all parts thoroughly.
Coat the O-ring with a light film of vegetable oil or O-ring
grease if the sprayer is to be stored for a long period .
If the Triplets are not cleaned regularly, possible dam-
age to them may occur.
WARNING! Never service your contaminated
nozzle without wearing chemical resistant gloves
and safety goggles.
